The National shock redefines the potential of a 46mm PDS style shock. The shock shares components from the performance based big bike National shock designs.
Here are some key features:
- Two main pistons and the Huck Valve compared to only two pistons in an OEM shock
- A three piston design produces a greater rising rate essential to a PDS style system
- Genuine Kashima coatings and Industrial Hard Carbon DLC coatings were appropriate
- Features 4 points of adjustment with 3 compression (low, mid, high) adjusters and a rebound adjuster
- Includes a progressive spring based on the weight of the rider
- This shock is hand built to order in the USA
Additionally, the Mechanical Preload Adjuster can be added for $300. This system makes setting sag much easier than the traditional method.

Motocross Action magazine test:
- Installation is straightforward with zero issues
- Shock was built for rider's height, weight and skill level
- The ride feel was more planted on acceleration bumps, landings and choppy corners
- Tracked straighter and stayed more planted than the stock WP unit
- Absorbed downhill braking bumps and square edges helping to alleviate rider fatigue
- Huck Valve - The progressive damping system is hard to bottom
- One allen tool adjusts all the compression adjusters, clicker are not vague like the WP clickers
- Pro level looking shock that also performs well
- Compared head-to-head with the WP Xact rear shock, the MX-Tech National shock was more stable for our testers. It's more responsive to setup changes, and it's built to take real abuse.
